Seeing Influence Within You

Next, we’ll examine how you currently exert influence in your ecosystem. We’ll also solicit feedback from the people in your Relationship Onion to determine which qualities of influence are working well for you and which may need to be adjusted or changed.

As a part of this conversation, we’ll also look at prominent leaders in the world who are already achieving the kind of results you want. By making these individuals your avatars, you can model your actions on theirs and move even closer to your purpose.

ELEMENT 3.2: SEEING INFLUENCE WITHIN YOU

YOUR REPERTOIRE

During our conversations in this element, we’ll identify which of the 16 qualities of leadership you already possess in abundance, which could benefit from fine-tuning, and which can be introduced to your already-impressive repertoire.

In our work in this phase, we’ll refer to the 360° of Influence Survey you were given at the end of Stage One. Using this valuable feedback from your Circle of Influence, we’ll discover what areas you need to enhance to ensure you exert the maximum positive influence in every area of your life: personally, socially, and professionally.

Using the 360° tool is much more effective than merely relying on self-analysis because we often maintain beliefs about ourselves—and our impact on others—that are not quite accurate. When we analyse the 360° survey, you’ll get to clearly see which parts of your influence are working for you and which aren’t, based on feedback from those who know you best.

YOUR AVATARS

Next, we’ll look for leaders who embody the key leadership qualities of influence that you would like to cultivate in yourself. These people will become your avatars. Using the Neural Rewiring Process, we will break down exactly what qualities of theirs you want to model and the best and most efficient way to do so.

YOUR APPROACH

Of course, you will not be mindlessly copying your avatars, because you will bring your own unique and powerful approach to developing these qualities in your own life. However, success always leaves clues—so, in studying these avatars, you will observe what worked for them and see how you can adapt their strategies for your own life.

You will choose an avatar for each of the 16 leadership qualities of influence (although, since some avatars may embody more than one quality, you can use an avatar more than once).
